Masks

After a trip to Mexico I became interested in masks, their duality as a device to conceal the internal while creating an idealized external. I began drawing and sculpting masks and guns, combining them with militaria and creating fictional portraits. The masks were made by casting my face as a template, then adding on to them with clay in order to portray personal psychological states that could be worn as armor.
